SWABHIMAAN SKILLING TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY

B-ABLE has started a project on skilling transgender community in Kolkata, West Bengal. The prime objective of the project is to assist transgender in improving their existing skills to live a better life and to get more social acceptance and recognition. Project has started in the month of March 18. Training is provided to get in depth theoretical and practical knowledge on beauty and wellness course. The duration of the project is of 250 hours in which 30 transgender participated from Kolkata. Assessment result of the first batch of this project was also remarkable which stood at 100%. On the other side, placement till date is 35% and it is still continuing.

In the beginning of the course transgender were little hesitant to continue with the training program due to the stigma attached to their gender status. However, as the course continued they found themselves confident and enthusiastic with the course material and session plan.
