The Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation had been implementing a centrally sponsored scheme Swarna Jayanti Sahari Rozgar Yojona since 1997, which has been restructured on Deendayal Antyodaya Yojona- National Urban Livelihood Mission since September 2013. The National Urban Livelihood Mission has been under implementation since September 24, 2013, in all district headquarters and all the cities with a population of 1 Lakh or more.
The Mission aims at providing shelter equipped with essential service to the urban homeless in a phased manner. In addition, the mission also addresses livelihood concerns of the urban street vendors by facilitating access to suitable space, institutional credit, social security and skills to the urban street vendors for accessing emerging market opportunities.
B-ABLE has partnered with the Government of Tripura to Implement the National Urban Livelihood Mission on 5th November 2016. The assigned target was 843 candidates to be skilled in various job roles. From 2016 to 2019 B-ABLE has trained 838 candidates.
