Powergrid-Corporate Social Responsibility
Powergrid in discharge of its obligation towards Corporate Social Responsibility under Companies Act 2013 and rules made thereunder has agreed to contribute funds to National Skill Development Fund to be used and utilised for the purpose of implementation of “Imparting Skill Development training to 5,000 Indian youths in 33 locations through the skilling partners of NSDC”.
B-ABLE as the first partner of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) a Ministry of Finance Initiative have entered into 1st phase of Memorandum of Understanding dated 14th January 2015 with NSDC to impart training to 360 youths in courses like Dairy Worker, Tea plantation worker, Sericulturist, Customer Service Executive (Meet & Greet) and Room Attendant in Behrampore, Tezpur and Mokokchung districts.
B-ABLE has trained 360 youths and placed 235 youths in companies like Big Basket, Dynasty, Fern Citadel, Hotel Blue Bird, Mainland China etc.
Further to this B-ABLE again entered into 2nd phase of Memorandum of Understanding dated 10th March 2016 with NSDC to impart training to 210 youths in courses like Helper Carpenter Shuttering & Scaffolding, Chillies Cultivator, Organic Grower, Solanaceous Crop, Paddy Farmer, Handloom Weaver (Carpet) and Two Shaft Handloom Weaver in Betul and Kota districts of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
B-ABLE has trained 210 youths and linked 210 candidates to sustainable livelihood opportunities.
