The Government of Bihar constituted Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) to empower the youth by providing them with requisite skills to fuel the growth of the State of Bihar. The primary roles of BSDM are to establish a wide network of training centres for the youth and to provide employment opportunities to the youth.
B-ABLE has imparted training under BSDM from the FY 2017-18 in IR-ITeS sector. Quality training is imparted and trainees are thoroughly assessed through collaborative mechanisms.
Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM) has awarded 2146 numbers to B-ABLE to impart Skill Training under Centrally Sponsored State Managed (CSSM) component of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna (PMKVY) for specified Job Roles under Category 1 and 1 in the state of Bihar.
Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) is the flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE). The objective of this Scheme is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevant skill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.
B-ABLE will train 2146 youths in 9 Locations for 4 Sectors in Bihar. In Category 1, B-ABLE will set up 6 centers and train 1320 youths in Gems & Jewelry, Electronics and Construction Sector. For category 4, we will set up 3 centers to train 826 numbers in Electronics and Healthcare Sector.
BSDM aims to provide an umbrella framework to all skilling activities being carried out within Bihar, to align them to common standards and link skilling with demand centres. In addition to laying down the objectives and expected activities, the document also identifies the overall ecosystem which will act as a vehicle to reach the expected outcomes. Skills development is the shared responsibility of the key stakeholder’s viz. Government of Bihar, the entire spectrum of corporate sector, community based organizations, Bihar Skill Development Mission (BSDM), Departments in Bihar implementing skill development endeavours, training providers, assessment and certification bodies and other stakeholders. The vision links skills development to improved employability and productivity in paving the way forward for inclusive growth in the State. The skill strategy is complemented by specific efforts to promote self-employment / entrepreneurship in order to create ample opportunities for the skilled workforce.
